The Canon LBP-6000 monochrome printer was first introduced in Australia/New Zealand in August 2010 as the Laser Shot LBP-6000. The i-SENSYS model followed in Europe in October 2010, and the imageCLASS in N. America in November 2010. All three printers are host-based and have OEM-rated print speeds of 18 (A4)/19 (letter) pages per minute (ppm) and duty cycles of 5,000 pages per month.

There is also an MFP version, the MF3010 Each model ships with a 700 page yield starter cartridge that is different from the 1,600 standard page yield replacement cartridge. The starter cartridge is not convertible for use as a replacement cartridge. Toner cartridges require chips for correct printer operation.
